Dr. Mark O'Dea, Ph.D., P.Geo.
President and CEO, Director
Over the past 10 years, Dr. O’Dea has built Fronteer Gold into a company well regarded among both industry peers and the financial community. He has rapidly grown Fronteer Gold into a well-funded gold company with a strong operational team and a focus on future production in Nevada. For the last three years, Ernst & Young has ranked Fronteer Gold among the strongest publicly traded companies in B.C. for its significant capital, liquidity and asset values. Dr. O'Dea graduated from Carleton University in 1989 with a B.Sc. (Hons.) degree in Geology and completed his Ph.D. in Structural Geology at Monash University in 1995. He is married with three children and lives in North Vancouver. Dr. O’Dea is also a supporter and director of the B.C.-Yukon Division of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Program, an initiative helping youth develop life skills and community responsibility.
Troy J. Fierro, B.Sc (Mine Engineering)
Chief Operating Officer
Troy Fierro joined the company in April 2009, and brings more than 25 years of experience in mine development, construction and management to the Fronteer team. Mr. Fierro was most recently Vice President, Operations for Metallica Resources, and has previously held senior positions with Coeur d'Alene Mines, Coeur Rochester, Minera Manhattan and Brohm Mining. Among his many achievements, Mr. Fierro played the lead role in the construction of the Cerro San Pedro Mine in Mexico, Metallica's first operating asset; efficiently managed the third largest primary silver mine in North America; and successfully managed the construction and startup of multiple precious metal mines. Mr. Fierro graduated with a Bachelor of Science – Mine Engineering from South Dakota School of Mines in 1985 and completed the Advanced Mine Feasibility and Design course from Queens University in 1992. Mr. Fierro formerly sat on the Northwest Mining Association Board of Trustees, the Nevada Mining Association Board of Directors, is a member of the Society of Metallurgical and Mining Engineers and was a former committee member for the South Dakota Mining Association. Sean Tetzlaff, CA, B.Comm.
CFO and Corporate Secretary
Mr. Tetzlaff has been the CFO and Corporate Secretary of Fronteer Gold since January of 2005. He holds a B.Comm from the University of British Columbia and is a Chartered Accountant. From 1995 to 1997, he was employed by Diamond Fields Resources Inc. From 1997 to 1999 he was the CFO of Valerie Gold Resources Inc. and Emgold Mining Corporation. From 1999 to 2004 he specialized in Canadian Corporate Tax, primarily advising High Technology clients at KPMG LLP Chartered Accountants. Ian Cunningham-Dunlop, P.Eng.
VP Exploration
Mr. Cunningham-Dunlop joined the company in October 2004, and brings over 20 years of experience in mineral exploration to the Fronteer Gold team. He has primarily worked for senior mining companies such as Barrick Gold Corporation, Homestake Canada Inc, Santa Fe Canadian Mining Ltd., and Goldfields Canadian Mining Ltd. Recently, Mr. Cunningham-Dunlop spent 6 years with Barrick Gold Corporation and Homestake Canada Inc. managing surface exploration at the Eskay Creek Mine in British Columbia. His efforts assisted in both enhancing the size of the local resource, and the understanding of the Eskay Creek Deposit. He also spent two seasons working at the Veladero Gold Project in northern Argentina, focusing on the generation of regional drill targets along the Argentina-Chile border. This work led to the discovery of the Guanaco Zonzo and Bruha Buena gold zones.
Jim Lincoln, M.Sc.
VP Operations
Mr. Lincoln has 30 years of experience in the mineral resource and mining business, including extensive experience in project development, feasibility studies and exploration. He is familiar with all aspects of feasibility from resource definition through mining, processing, environmental assessment, permitting and financing. He has been a team member or project manager on 12 feasibility and prefeasibility studies in nine countries including both underground and surface mining projects. Mr. Lincoln has worked in technical and managerial positions for Boliden Canada Limited, Cominco, Pegasus Gold Corporation, Dayton Mining Corporation, Mt. Isa Mines, and Jinshan Gold Mines Inc. before joining Fronteer Gold and Aurora Energy Resources. He has also been involved in major mining and development projects worldwide including Red Dog, Alaska; Magmont West zinc/lead Mine, Missouri; Diamond Hill Gold Mine, Montana; Andacollo Gold Mine, Chile; Sarsfield Gold Mine, Queensland, Pueblo Viejo Gold Mine, Dominican Republic, and the CSH 217 Gold Project in Inner Mongolia, China. Mr. Lincoln holds a B.Sc. degree in geology from Eastern Michigan University and an M.Sc. degree in mineralogy/materials from the Ohio State University. John Dorward, B.Comm.
VP Business Development
John Dorward joined Fronteer Gold as Vice President, Business Development in 2009. He has a strong background in finance, corporate transactions and investment banking on both sides of the table – he has been both CFO and bank lender to several mining companies. Most recently, Mr. Dorward was CFO of Mineral Deposits Limited, where he led the company’s TSX IPO and associated US$50M equity raising, as well as arranged US$130M debt package for development of the Sabodala Gold Project. Mr. Dorward holds a B.Comm (Hons) from Melbourne University and is a Certified Financial Analyst. Chris Lee, M.Sc., P.Geo.
Chief Geoscientist
Mr. Lee specializes in project evaluations, structural analysis, grade control and resource estimation, and has applied these skills across a broad spectrum of deposit types around the world. Previously a Principal Consultant with SRK Consulting (Canada) Inc., Mr. Lee has worked on more than 60 mining projects, from grassroots exploration to full feasibility and producing operations.
